JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A project by two Jonesboro Leadership teams raised over $8,000 to present to a local foundation Wednesday morning.
The teams raised money with "Bowling for Babies" for the NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation "ShareHope - Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support."
The two teams held the first ever event back in May at the Jonesboro Bowling Center and raised $8,425 for the cause and proceeds from the event were used to purchase grief kits for ShareHope staff and volunteers.
Jonesboro Leadership Group team member Janet McNece says these kits will help mothers suffering from infant loss.
"We purchased fifty bags to give to parents who have lost children either at birth or within the first two years of life, and they are filled with all types of things... a book comforting them to take home from the hospital." says McNece.
After purchasing the grief kits, the Jonesboro Leadership Teams still had $4,300 to give to ShareHope to further their cause.
