ST. LOUIS (AP) - Several weekend highway projects in the St. Louis area are being put on hold because of the rainy forecast.
The Missouri Department of Transportation had planned work that would have required closure of eastbound Interstate 64 downtown and limited traffic on the Poplar Street Bridge over the weekend.
MoDOT also called off work that would have required lane closures on Interstate 70 and Route 370 in St. Charles County.
One project that will go on is on Interstate 55 in south St. Louis County, where all lanes will be closed over the weekend from Reavis Barracks to Bayless to set girders for the new Union Road Bridge over the interstate. Drivers are urged to use Interstate 44 as an alternate route.
