Fatal Crash kills Three in St. Francis County

ST. FRANCIS COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Three Region 8 people are dead after an accident on Interstate 40 Saturday.

According to Arkansas State Police, David Tschabold, 22, of Marion was traveling westbound near the 254 mile marker when his 2010 Ford pick-up crossed the median. His truck struck a 2007 Town and Country van carrying Cora, 60, and James Smith, 64, of Forrest City and a 2010 International 18-wheeler truck driven by Julia M. Ridgeway, 46, of Tuscaloosa, AL.

Arkansas State Police also say Tschabold and Cora and James Smith were pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Rausch Hodges.

Corporal Brandon Coleman investigated the accident.

Ridgeway was uninjured. All victims were wearing seatbelts.
