BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. -- A state Department of Correction prison guard is in jail on homicide charges.

Jeremy Goodson is accused in the weekend shooting death of his girlfriend's husband. The 30-year-old is being held in the Mississippi County Detention Center.

Police say Goodson killed 43-year-old Marcus Dargan, who was shot with a shotgun on Sunday. Blytheville Police Captain Marvin Crawford says Dargan and his wife have been separated for two years but Dargan went to her home.

He says an argument began and Goodson shot Dargan.

Dina Tyler, a spokeswoman with the Department of Corrections, says Goodson has worked at the Mississippi County Work Release Center since July of last year. She says Goodson is on administrative leave pending an investigation.
