SHARP COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Region 8 man is in custody after police say he shot another man in the arm during a dispute.

The shooting happened Saturday September 11, at 284 Stoney Point Road.

According to the Sharp County Sheriff's Department, when deputies arrived at the scene, they found 27-year-old Joseph Harper with a gunshot wound to the arm. Police also found 30-year-old Kevin Lee Dancer suffering from head injuries.

Sharp County Investigators say, Dancer and Harper were at a deer camp on Stoney point Road when they got into a fight. Police say Dancer was hit in the head with handgun by Harper, and then went and got his own gun and shot at Harper as he was running away, hitting him in the arm.

Dancer was arrested at the scene and transported both men to the Fulton County Hospital.

Dancer is being charged with battery in the second degree, and is currently in the Sharp County Jail awaiting bond being set.
