Man shot over parking space, suspect in custody

WEST MEMPHIS, AR (KAIT) - West Memphis police say they now have a man in custody after an overnight shooting led to the death of Timothy Lemont Prackett of West Memphis on Wednesday.

Police say Soloman Davis was arrested at the scene of the shooting at the Steeple Chase Apartments in West Memphis and is being held in the Crittenden County Detention Center awaiting a bond and arraignment hearing scheduled for Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. in West Memphis District Court.

According to West Memphis police, Prackett was shot multiple times in the parking lot of the complex.  Witnesses at the apartments say the victim was in an argument with several people over parking spaces.

Witnesses at the apartments told police that the suspect had a gun and a permit for it. Witnesses say after the shooting, the Prackett ran and then collapsed.
