Arkansas' Mallett named SEC player of the week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett has been named as the Southeastern Conference's football player of the week.

Mallett led the 10th-ranked Razorbacks to a 31-24 win at Georgia on Saturday, passing for 380 yards and three touchdowns. He threw a game-winning 40-yard touchdown pass to Greg Childs with 15 seconds left.

Mallett has passed for 1,081 yards and nine touchdowns this season and Arkansas is 3-0 for the first time since 2003.

The Razorbacks will host No. 1 Alabama this Saturday.
