Batesville, AR (Lyon) - Anja Klotzle booted two goals and had one assist in the Lyon College Scots' 5-0 shutout of Hendrix College on Tuesday in nonconference action at Huser Field.
Klotzle's two-goal game ran her season total to six goals and gave her 35 goals in her career, which is second on Lyon's all-time list. Jordan Kalei Aliviado also assisted on two goals in the game and Katie Marshall had a goal and an assist.
Lyon (5-2) has won back-to-back games via shutout and blanked an opponent for the fourth time this season. Hendrix (1-5) has lost two in a row and has lost both games against Lyon this season, including a 4-1 loss on Sept. 5th.
Scots' goalkeeper Erica Cox notched her fourth shutout of the year and pushed her school-record clean total to 14 career clean sheets. The senior also had three saves and picked up her fifth win of the season and sent her Lyon record to 17 victories.
Katie Marshall drew first blood for the Scots in the 27th minute, when Klotzle served up a pass in the box for a 1-0 lead. Klotzle then scored 39 seconds later in the 27th minute off an assist from Aliviado and then scored again in the 32nd minute off of a Marshall pass.
In the second half, Creeia Nuckols added an unassisted goal in the 46th minute and Aliviado assisted on a Linda Miloud goal in the 52nd minute.
The Scots play again on the road Saturday against TranSouth Conference powerhouse and nationally-ranked Martin Methodist. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Pulaski, Tenn.
