Help available for people struggling with high energy bills

Jonesboro, AR (KAIT)- Help is on the way for those struggling to pay their air conditioning bills during this long, hot summer. Additional assistance from the state of Arkansas is being made available through the Crowley's Ridge Development Councils's Summer Crisis Program. If you have not already received assistance this summer, you may be eligible.

People living in Craighead, Crittendon, Cross and Jackson Counties can apply for help Monday (September 27, 2010) and Tuesday (September 28, 2010) next week at the CRDC Human Services offices.

Greene, Poinsett, Woodruff and St. Francis Counties will turn applications in on Wednesday and Thursday (September 29 & 30) at the CRDC Human Services offices in those counties between 8:30a.m. and 3p.m. Applicants must have proof of household income for August and a shutoff notice from the utility company.
