DARDANELLE, AR (AP) - A 17-year-old girl from Dardanelle who was reported missing has been found in apparent good health in northeast Texas.
The Texarkana Gazette reports that police in New Boston, Texas, said late Thursday night that Sara Elizabeth Alvis walked into a convenience store off Interstate 30 and told the clerk she'd been kidnapped.
Authorities had issued a Morgan Nick Amber Alert earlier Thursday evening after witnesses said the girl had been forced into a pickup truck. Her cell phone was found in a ditch in Perry County.
The girl told investigators that her kidnapper had dropped her off at the store.
The alert said the truck was driven by 22-year-old Nicholas V. Pfeifer, also of Dardanelle, and that he was in a black 1992 Ford pickup truck with Arkansas license 671-JHB.
