Dewarick Spencer leaves Maroussi to play for Budivelnyk Kiev

Kiev, Ukraine ( - A few weeks ago, ASU alum Dewarick Spencer considered leaving Marousi and now it is officially true. He has left the team from Athens and signed with Ukrainian club Budivelnyk Kyiv. Last season he played in France for Le Mans. In the French League, Spencer averaged 18.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

Spencer played collegiate basketball at Arkansas State before starting his career in Europe. He has since played for Chorale Roanne and Le Mans in France, Bologna in Italy and Efes Pilsen in Turkey. Among his career highlights are winning the 2007 French championship and the 2007 Semaine d' As with Roanne and the 2009 French Cup and 2009 Semaine d' As with Le Mans.

He left Maroussi after head coach Giorgos Bartzokas resigned and because of new ownership. The team's financial future is uncertain and unstable.
