CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (SEMO) - Southeast Missouri senior RB Henry Harris was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 26.
Harris shared this week's award with Tennessee State RB Preston Brown and Jacksonville State RB Jamal Young.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Harris became the first Southeast player to earn the OVC's Offensive Player of the Week honor in consecutive weeks.
He ran for a career-high 196 yards and a touchdown to lift the Redhawks to a 23-21 victory over Tennessee Tech Saturday. Harris carried the ball 32 times and averaged 6.1 yards per attempt en route to his third-straight 100-yard rushing game of the season.
Harris also had a career-high 231 all-purpose yards against the Golden Eagles.
Tennessee State LB Rico Council (Defensive), Murray State return specialist Dontrell Johnson (Specialist) and Murray State RB Mike Harris (Newcomer) rounded out this week's honorees.
