TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) – A traffic stop lands a Trumann man in custody for drug possession.
25-year-old Jonathun Witt was arrested Monday afternoon. According to the police report, Witt "appeared very nervous" and, after a brief conversation, "admitted to possessing a soda can that he used to smoke crack cocaine."
The officer arrested Witt and called in K9 Officer Kevin Holt for assistance. According to the police report, a search of Witt's car found two rock-like substances believed to be crack cocaine and a plastic shopping bag containing 617 hydrocodone pills and 110 Xanax pills worth approximately $3,000 on the street.
Witt appeared before Poinsett County District Judge Ron Hunter on the following charges:
- Possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone) with intent to deliver
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with intent to deliver
- Possession of a controlled substance (Xanax) with intent to deliver
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Judge Hunter found probable cause and set Witt's bond at $50,000.
Witt will appear in Circuit Court on October 23.
