Museum to have mobile smart phone guide

KANSAS CITY, MO (AP) - Visitors to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City will soon be able to use their smart phones to learn about the museum's collection.

Museum officials say more than 250 works of art will be available to visitors Oct. 1 via a mobile guide accessible on smart phones or with 1 of the museum's iPod Touches.

The Nelson-Atkins says in a release the new smart phone program replaces the previous audio guide program, which made information available only through fixed players.

The program highlights works in all of the museum's collections, and 24 new stops featuring the American Indian collection will be added later.
