ASU Volleyball travels to Troy & South Alabama this weekend

SERVING IT UP: The A-State volleyball squad will hit the road for back-to-back weekends, totaling four Sun Belt Conference matches.  ASU's first stop will be Oct. 1 first at Troy, before the Red Wolves head to Mobile, Ala. Oct. 3 to face South Alabama.  The  following weekend will mark trips to North Texas and Denver.  Livestats will be available at

THE TEAMS: Arkansas State now stands at 6-8 overall with an 0-2 mark in SBC play.  The Red Wolves dropped matches to Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee at home last weekend, losing both in three sets.  ASU's last 0-2 conference start was during the 2007 season when the Red Wolves opened with losses to Denver and North Texas in Jonesboro.
Troy will enter the weekend at 8-10 overall and 1-1 in league action.  The Trojans dropped their Friday match 3-1 on the road at Louisiana-Lafayette, before topping ULM 3-0 Saturday.  The Trojans topped Georgia State 3-2 in midweek action.
South Alabama holds a 6-11 overall record and stands at an even 1-1 in SBC matches.  USA swept ULM Friday but dropped a 3-1 decision at Louisiana-Lafayette Sunday.  The Jaguars will meet UALR Friday night.
hold an undefeated 6-0 record in the all-time series against Troy.  Last season, A-State took a 3-1 victory in Jonesboro.
THE SOUTH ALABAMA SERIES: The all-time series stands at 20-3 in favor of Arkansas State against USA.  Last season, ASU swept the Jaguars in Jonesboro.  The last South Alabama win was a 3-2 victory in Mobile during the 2005 season.
