Jonesboro (ASU) – The Arkansas State men's golf team will host an alumni match Friday at 1:30 p.m. at RidgePointe Country Club, welcoming back several of its former lettermen for a Ryder Cup style match against players from the Red Wolves' current roster.
All members of the A-State team will be on hand to both compete against and visit with a number of players that have already passed through the program. The one-round match will feature a combination of best ball and individual scoring.
"We are excited to welcome back some of our former lettermen who represented our golf program so well while they were here and now continue to be outstanding ambassadors of Arkansas State University as alumni," said ASU head men's golf coach Steve Johnson. "This is an excellent opportunity for our players to learn a little more about this history of our program and also to practice against great competition as we continue our season."
The Red Wolves have played two tournaments this season, including the Sam Hall Intercollegiate and Mason Rudolph Championship, and will next compete Oct. 4-5 at the Squire Creek Intercollegiate in Ruston, La.
