Southeast Missouri Game Notes
OVC Game of the Week
Southeast and Eastern Illinois hook up for the Ohio Valley Conference Game of the Week. Saturday's game will be televised live on the Wazoo Sports Network and Heartland CW (WQWQ-TV). You can also watch online at ESPN3.com
Redhawks on Three-Game Winning Streak
The Redhawks are on a three-game winning streak for the first time since 2003. Southeast's 3-1 start matches its best under head coach Tony Samuel. The Redhawks also began the 2006 season with wins in three of their first four games.
Fourth Quarter Flurry
The Redhawks have given up only one touchdown in the fourth quarter this season. Southeast is outscoring opponents, 33-10, in the final period. The Redhawks own a 30-7 fourth-quarter advantage in their last three games alone.
Records are Falling
Southeast broke single-game records in rushing attempts (69), first downs (31) and rushing first downs (23) against Tennessee Tech (Sept. 25). All of those were also Ohio Valley Conference single-game highs in 2010. In addition, the Redhawks ran 87 plays vs. the Golden Eagles, most in a game by any OVC team this season.
Redhawks Receiving Votes
The Redhawks received votes in the two main Football Championship Subdivision Top-25 Polls for the second-straight week. Southeast received 279 votes in the Sports Network/Fathead.com Poll and 34 nods in the Coaches Poll on Sept. 27.
Eastern Illinois leads the all-time series against Southeast by a count of 13-4. The Redhawks are just 1-7 against the Panthers in Charleston, with their lone win coming in 1957 (41-0). Southeast has dropped each of its last six games against EIU.
