Organization helps Region 8 residents fight breast cancer

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Mall at Turtle Creek turned pink as an organization worked to help Region 8 residents fight breast cancer.

Pink for the Cure hit the mall, Friday, and St. Bernards brought their mobile unit

Free clinical exams and mammograms were offered to women without insurance.

Alicia Storey with St. Bernards says there's a great need in Region 8 for women who have lost their jobs and aren't able to get a mammogram.

"Komen for the Cure has provided us grant money. So, we're bringing our mobile out here today to provide mammograms for those women who otherwise wouldn't be able to receive them," Storey said.

The event lasted until 2:30.
