Ole Miss releases potential mascot designs

Oxford, MS (Clarion-Ledger) - On the eve of voting on the final poll for its mascot selections, Ole Miss has released the designs voters will see.

Online voting opens at 8 a.m. Wednesday for a span of a week for UM stakeholders — students, alumni and season ticket holders — to voice their preference between Rebel Land Shark, Rebel Black Bear and Hotty Toddy to represent the school's athletic teams. Ole Miss has been mascot-free the past seven years since the controversial removal of Colonel Rebel in 2003.
