10 students caught with prescription drugs

OZARK, MO (AP) - Christian County authorities say 10 Ozark High School students could face charges after they allegedly took prescription drugs to a homecoming event.

Christian County Chief Deputy Juvenile Officer Terri Goodall said the Ozark School District reported the students were caught with hydrocodone on school grounds on Sept. 24. The drug is better known as Vicodin, Lortab and Lorcet.

The Springfield News-Leader reports that Goodall said two of the students could face charges of distribution of a controlled substance. The other eight students could be charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Curt Chesick, a spokesman for the Ozark School District, says the students were disciplined in accordance with the district's policies.
