Meeting held to discuss Jonesboro's future

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Where would you like to see the city of Jonesboro in 20 years? That's the question posed by city officials Monday night.

City representatives held a series of public meetings discussing Jonesboro in the year 2030.

Those who attended were asked what they would like to see for the city's future growth.

"We hope that we get a great deal of information from the citizens because, as our mission says, we've got to get the input from citizens and we have a lot of data that's compiled. We've been doing that for the last several months but now we've got to take that information and tie it to what the people want to see in those certain areas," Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin said.

Sessions were held throughout the city in seven different locations.

Perrin says they intend to hold additional meetings in the future.
