2nd suspect arrested for allegedly robbing woman for $2.00, cigs

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) - Police now have a man in custody in connection with an incident that occurred on Oct. 12.

Forrest City Police says Durayl A. Rooks, 36, of 426 Sunrise Drive in Forrest City was arrested after he tried to run from them. Rooks was captured and charged with aggravated robbery, failure to comply, failure to appear, and a felony fugitive warrant out of Comanche County, OK.

Rooks was previously wanted for the gun-point-robbery of a female at the corner of Gorman and Ash while she was walking to the store.

Also arrested in the case was 18-year-old Kamron Morris, also of Forrest City.

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) – Warrants have been issued for the second suspect in an armed robbery over a week ago.

Forrest City Police say 36-year-old Durayl Antwon Rooks (A.K.A. Rail) is wanted for aggravated robbery after he and another man named Kamron Morris allegedly held up a woman near Ash and Gorman Street on Oct 12.

While Morris has already been arrested in connection with the case, Rooks is still on the loose. If anyone knows where Rooks is located, please contact the Forrest City Police Department at (870) 633-3434 of the Forrest City Crime Stoppers at (870) 261-1479. All calls will remain confidential.

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) –Forrest City Police say Kamron Morris, 18, was arrested after a 21-year-old woman said she was robbed at gunpoint by two men at the corner of Gorman and Ash Street.

According to police reports, the woman was walking toward the store when the two men approached her with a pistol demanding the contents of her purse. She turned over her purse to give them her $2.00 worth of change and some cigarettes.

Police say when the men left, the woman reported the robbery to an officer on Broadway and Division Street. The officer looked for the men and found them on the corner of Water and Oak. One man ran from the officer while Morris was arrested and taken to St. Francis County Jail pending arraignment.

Morris also has an outstanding robbery warrant out of Dallas County, TX. Police are still looking for the second suspect.
