INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana's football team has its lost top runner, Darius Willis, with a season-ending knee injury.
The Hoosiers say Willis has a patellar tendon injury and will undergo surgery next week. He'd been listed as doubtful for Saturday's game at Arkansas State.
Willis injured his right knee during practice last week and sat out against Ohio State. He had 64 carries for 279 yards and four touchdowns this season and was fifth in the Big Ten in scoring at 7.5 points per game.
Coach Bill Lynch hasn't said who'll replace Willis on Saturday. At Ohio State, Trea Burgess, Antonio Banks and Nick Turner combined for 23 carries and 69 yards.
Burgess has been named a game captain this week.
