JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A local blood drive held Monday did more than save lives, it honored the memory of a loved one.
The NEA Baptist Clinic Wellness Center held their third annual blood drive in collaboration with the American Red Cross.
The blood drive honored Dee Shoemaker.
Before her death, Shoemaker was a personal trainer at the center and a regular donor.
"I can't believe that anything would please her more, I think, than doing this because she was a very out spoken advocate of blood donation and was always trying to get everyone to give blood when she worked here and when we were around her," Steve Bowen with the NEA Wellness Center said.
The blood drive lasted until 7 p.m. Monday evening.
