JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro Police were called to the scene of an accident at Murry Creek on Johnson Avenue near Bethany Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon just after 2 p.m.
Witnesses told Jonesboro Police that 63 year old Donald Arrington appeared to be having trouble with his motorized wheel chair.
When the fire department arrived they found him face down in the ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Arrington's motorized wheel chair was stuck at the top of the culvert, where Arrington allegedly left the road and toppled over the edge of the culvert.
Jonesboro Police are uncertain at the time if the fall into the ditch caused Arrington's death or if he died prior to the accident.
Coroners say a tox screen for Arrington will be conducted and sent to the crime lab.
