Stability has Grizzlies eyeing 1st playoff berth

To the Memphis Grizzlies, reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2006 is only part of their goal this season.

Rudy Gay, fresh with his $82 million contract, says the Grizzlies aren't putting a limit or cap on where they want to go. The playoffs are where they want to be. But Gay says they are just trying to start the season playing the best basketball they can and try to be the best team they can be.

The Grizzlies have their entire starting rotation back for only the second time in franchise history and first since moving to Memphis. That group went 40-42 last season in the Southwest Division, but now they think they've improved their defense and put together the players to provide true help off the bench in Tony Allen, Acie Law and Darrell Arthur.
