JONESBORO, AR. (KAIT) - Friday, officers from the Jonesboro Police Department went through their fifth and final day of SWAT training.
There exercises today involved live-fire training and shooting scenarios.
Though it was just training, officials say they added precautions to make sure everyone was safe. The walls in the training location are made out of railroad cross ties filled with two layers of pea gravel, so bullets can't penetrate the barrier.
Lt. Roy Coleman of JPD's SWAT team says this type of training is crucial for officers.
