Stolen items found in hunting store land Hoxie man in jail

HOXIE, AR (KAIT) - A Region 8 man wound up in jail after the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and Arkansas State Police received a report that a hunting cabin had been broken into.

The cabin, located on County Road 318 in Lawrence county, reported that several items had been stolen, including a hunting bow, a deer mount and other hunting items.

The bow and deer mount were later found at a hunting store.

Willis Cain of Hoxie was then contacted and asked to come in for questioning. Cain admitted to police that he had broken into the cabin and stole the items. Cain also admitted to selling the items.

Cain allowed officers to search his residence where they found several other stolen items from the cabin and some items that were reported stolen from Randolph County.

Cain was arrested at his residence for burglary and theft of property. The arrest took place without incidence and was taken to the Lawrence County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
