Lisa Blount, Arkansas actor-producer, dies at 53

LITTLE ROCK, AR (AP) - Relatives told police that actress Lisa Blount suffered from a chronic illness for more than 17 years and that she'd complained of not feeling well in the days before her death in Little Rock.

Little Rock police say the 53-year-old Blount was found dead in her home Wednesday afternoon. A police report says Blount's mother said her daughter suffered from a condition similar to multiple
sclerosis and that she'd complained recently of back and neck pain.

No cause of death has been released. Police say there is no sign of foul play.

Blount was living in Little Rock with her husband - actor and director Ray McKinnon.

She won an Academy Award in 2001 for best live-action short film as producer of "The Accountant." She's best known for her role in 1982's "An Officer and a Gentleman," where she played the friend of actress Debra Winger.
