FULTON, MO (AP) - A central Missouri man has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder after a series of shootings that prompted police to warn people who knew him to leave the area.

Joshua William Maylee was charged with the crimes Friday morning - a day after he was captured by police. He also was charged with one count of first-degree assault.

He is accused of fatally shooting Eugene Pinet and his wife, Jackie, at their home in the Holts Summit area Tuesday night. He also is charged with killing Jeffrey Werdehausen and wounding his
wife in a shooting at their home in the same area.

Police say the killings were not random but have declined to say why the victims may have been targeted.

It was not immediately known Friday if Maylee had an attorney.
