Razorback Ryan Mallett named SEC Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett and Mississippi State linebacker Chris White are the Southeastern Conference offensive and defensive players of the week.

Mallett passed for a school-record 409 yards and three touchdowns against Vanderbilt. White had a career-high 15 tackles and an interception against Kentucky.

Florida punter and kicker Chas Henry and Auburn return man Demond Washington were named co-special teams players of the week on Monday.

Mississippi State tackle Derek Sherrod was offensive lineman of the week while South Carolina end Devin Taylor won defensive line honors.

Three running backs shared freshman of the week honors: Auburn's Mike Dyer, Florida's Trey Burton and South Carolina's Marcus Lattimore.
