WBC Lady Eagles cruise to opening Victory

WALNUT RIDGE, ark. (WBC) - The Williams Baptist College women's basketball started the season off in resounding fashion by dominating the Ecclesia Royals on Saturday. The Lady Eagles cruised to an 84-45 victory over the Royals for WBC's Homecoming.

The Williams women came out on fire, jumping to an early 20 point lead as they cruised to a 46-14 halftime advantage. The Lady Eagles were able to play their entire roster in the second half on their way to a big opening victory.

On the night, 13 of 15 players scored for Williams with Becky Caldwell leading the balanced WBC attack with 12 points. Jessica Shepard, Kim Sutterfield and Kayla Tyus added 11 points apiece while Rachel Looney and Cheyanne Childers chipped in with 10 and 9 respectively.

With the win, WBC moved 1-0 on the season and will take the floor again on Thursday November 4th against Ecclesia in Springdale, Ark. The Lady Eagles' next home game is Nov. 11, when they host Lyon at 5:30 p.m.
