Escaped With No Pants

WYNNE, Ark. -- Cross County officials are looking for a jail escapee who lost his pants as he fled the county lockup.

Officials say 29-year-old Danny Scarbrough of Wynne was jailed June 17 on drug charges and scaled a wall topped with razor wire as he escaped on Friday.

Sheriff Ronnie Baldwin says Scarbrough left his pants behind on the roof and apparently cut himself on the razor wire.

Baldwin says the wall is high enough that someone probably gave the escapee a boost. He also says at least one inmate hid when it was time to go back to their cells, keeping a guard from making an immediate head count that would have shown a prisoner was missing.

Scarbrough was being held for possession of methamphetamine and has additional methamphetamine charges pending elsewhere.
