Petrino: Arkansas needs to be effective at rushing

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Head coach Bobby Petrino says Arkansas will have to be effective in rushing the ball because South Carolina defends well against the run.

Petrino said after practice Thursday a good running game will complement the team's pass attack.

No. 17 Arkansas (6-2, 3-2 SEC) is coming off a victory last week over Vanderbilt. Saturday's game against the 18th-ranked Gamecocks will be broadcast on ESPN.

Petrino says the Razorbacks had a sound week of practice, with offensive players stepping up in the process. He says the players understand the extent of the game, and are "fired up" to go on the road and play in another big game.
