Arkansas Basketball counting on Jeff Peterson's experience

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas expects to have a new look on offense this season.

That can't be a bad thing, since the Razorbacks finished 14-18 last season and missed the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.

Picked to finish fourth in the Southeastern Conference's West Division, Arkansas enters the season without former point guard Courtney Fortson, who left school early to pursue professional opportunities. The Razorbacks will rely on junior transfer Jeff Peterson and sophomore Julysses Nobles to replace Fortson.

Peterson transferred to Arkansas before last season from Iowa, where he started all 25 games he played in as a sophomore. He averaged 10.6 points and 4.2 assists for the Hawkeyes during the 2008-09 season.

The Razorbacks also return junior Rotnei Clark (15.1 ppg) and preseason All-SEC first-team selection sophomore Marshawn Powell (14.9).
