Southeast Missouri Notes
Southeast Grabs First-Ever Top-10 Ranking
Southeast achieved its first-ever Top-10 ranking when it was voted ninth in the Football Championship Subdivision Sports Network Poll and 10th in the FCS Coaches Poll this week. The Redhawks have been ranked for five-straight weeks.
Saturday marks Southeast's final regular- season home game. The Redhawks will honor their 21 seniors prior to kickoff.
Redhawks are Rolling
Southeast has won eight games in a row, and as a result, is on its longest winning streak since joining the NCAA Division I ranks. The Redhawks eight-game winning streak currently ties for the third-longest in the Football Championship Subdivision this season. Ohio Valley Conference foe Jacksonville State leads the nation with a 12-game winning streak, while Appalachian State, Southeast and Bethune-Cookman follow with eight-consecutive victories.
With a Win Saturday . . .
Southeast will match a school record in wins (nine in 1937 and 1955) and finish undefeated at home for the first time since joining Division I.
Harris Closes in on Single-Season Records
RB Henry Harris is 172 yards away from breaking Southeast's all-time single-season rushing record. Harris has rushed for 1,200 yards on 229 carries through nine starts. Kelvin "Earthquake" Anderson currently holds the record with 1,371 yards in 1992. Harris also stands 229 yards away from becoming the school's all-time single- season leader in all-purpose yards.
The Redhawks lead the all-time series against Southwest Baptist, 4-2. Southeast has won each of its last three meetings vs. the Bearcats. All of those games were in Cape Girardeau (1990, 2007, 2008). The Redhawks and Bearcats went to overtime in their last meeting which resulted in a 35-28 win for Southeast.
