LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Governor Huckabee says he'd be willing to include an anti-nepotism proposal in the special session he plans to call for education this fall.
But, the governor says Democrats would have to write and support the legislation. Otherwise, the governor says the proposal would be viewed as a partisan attack on Democrats.
Huckabee says recent disclosures regarding huge raises given to relatives of Secretary of State Charlie Daniels and Treasurer Gus Wingfield are troubling to him.
The governor says he has less trouble with employing his own brother-in-law as a member of his staff because they are not blood relatives. He says spokesman Jim Harris has decades of journalism experience.
