CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) – Two fugitives are now in police custody after trying to hide at another woman's home in Caruthersville.
When officers arrived at the residence on 1906 Eastwood Street, an unnamed woman answered the door and told officers the fugitives were not there. Officers searched the home anyway and found both fugitives hiding within the residence.
Caruthersville Police say Anthony A. Gibson, 30, and Ashley Bodiford were both found and arrested on outstanding warrants—Gibson had a Missouri probation and parole warrant while Bodiford had a warrant through the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department for failure to appear in court.
Police also say the woman who answered the door was arrested and charged with harboring a fugitive.
All charges are pending formal filing with the state prosecutor's office, and all subjects were taken to the Pemiscot County Jail without incident.
