VAN BUREN, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas judge says a lawsuit
challenging how teams are seeded in the Class 6A football playoffs
should be heard in Little Rock.
Crawford County Circuit Judge Mike Medlock on Monday directed
that Van Buren's lawsuit against the Arkansas Activities
Association be heard in Pulaski County, where the AAA is based.
Van Buren's superintendent says he is not interested in
disrupting this year's playoffs and that he expects games to be
played this Friday.
The school says it unfairly lost points that would have made it
a No. 3 seed instead of a No. 4 seed. The Pointers still qualified
for a home game this Friday and will host fifth-seeded Benton in a
first-round game. Third-seed Jacksonville hosts sixth-seeded
A different lawsuit last year delayed the Class 3A playoffs.
