LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- US Senator Blanche Lincoln says that in addition to being the youngest women ever to serve in the US Senate, she might also be the most paranoid.

She said that because she is so alarmed at how unprepared this country to serve an aging population. Thursday in Little Rock she said the nation is not training enough doctors specializing in treating the elderly.

Lincoln said that out of 125 medical schools in the country, only three have a department of geriatrics, and Arkansas is fortunate to have one of those.

She said the Reynolds Center on Aging at UAMS in Little Rock is one of the best in the country in the coordination of care given to individuals by different doctors.
