A man scheduled to die Wednesday night for his role in the slayings of three children in trying to stop his execution. Riley Noel Monday asked the U-S Supreme Court for an order stopping the execution. Last week, Noel was turned away in his attempt to get the Eighth U-S Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis to stop the execution. He is scheduled to die by lethal injection for the 1995 murders of three siblings in their Little Rock home. His lawyer claims Noel should not be executed on the grounds that he is mentally retarded.
