ASU Bowling 4th after day two of Crusader Classic

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (11/13/10) — The Arkansas State women's bowling team (16-5) now stands at 4-4 and fourth in the standings after posting a 2-2 record on the second day of play at the Crusader Classic in Merrillville, Ind.

Today's matches were in traditional team format.  The Red Wolves dropped their first match 855-851 to Adrian before topping Nebraska 923-885.  ASU continued the momentum into match three, defeating Minnesota State-Mankato 1123-965, but Elmhurst took a 896-880 decision from Arkansas State to close the day.

Emily Troutman led the A-State team with a 209 average on the day, followed by Lauren Pulver at 198 and Emily Fravel at 193.5.

"We lost some momentum again today," said ASU head coach Justin Kostick.  "We have to find a way to stay consistent for three matches tomorrow.  We can still win the tournament if we win all three tomorrow, but we have to be more solid."

Action at the Crusader Classic will wrap up Sunday.
