ASU Volleyball seeded 4th, will play North Texas in SBC Tournament

JONESBORO, Ark. (11/14/10) — Following a 3-0 sweep over Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday night, the Arkansas State volleyball team has been seeded fourth going into the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Murfreesboro, Tenn., the league announced Sunday.

The Red Wolves finished the regular season at 17-11 with an 11-5 mark in conference matches.  ASU captured a share of the SBC West Division Championship for the second consecutive year, sharing this year's title with North Texas.  Since the Red Wolves won more games head-to-head over the Mean Green, ASU took the No. 4 seed.

A-State will meet fifth-seeded UNT in the opening round of the tournament Thursday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.  The winner will then face the winner of the No. 1 Middle Tennessee–No. 8 South Alabama matchup Friday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Middle Tennessee claimed the SBC regular season crown, earning the top seed in the tournament with a 15-1 league record.

All games will be available via webstream on SBC Extra, and fans can purchase a tournament pass for only $9.95 to tune-in. The championship match at 3 p.m. (CT) Saturday, Nov. 20 will also be broadcast by the Sun Belt Network (times subject to change due to television demands).  For more information, visit www.sunbeltsports.org.
