Razorback forward Michael Sanchez out six weeks with foot injury

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas basketball coach John

Pelphrey says forward Michael Sanchez will be out of action for

about six weeks after suffering a foot injury.

Razorback spokesman Phil Pierce said Wednesday the injury

occurred during practice on Tuesday. Pierce said he didn't know

which foot was involved - he had been told both right and left -

but in one of them, Sanchez suffered a stress fracture in his

second metatarsal and had stress reactions in his third and fourth

In two exhibition games this fall, Sanchez averaged 9.5 points

and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 70 percent from the floor. He was

third on the team with four steals and averaged more than 19

minutes in the two exhibition contests.

Last season, Sanchez missed all but four games because of

plantar fasciitis.
