Clark has 18, Belmont beats Arkansas State 93-60

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Ian Clark scored 18 points as Belmont beat Arkansas State 93-60 to take third place in the South region of the NIT Season Tip-Off on Wednesday night.

Brandon Baker hit back-to-back 3-pointers and Clark added a third as Belmont (1-1) jumped out to a 9-0 lead that it would never relinquish. The Bruins used an 8-0 run and an 11-2 run to build their margin and take a 52-23 halftime lead.

Belmont scored 44 points off the bench, hit 52.6% of its shots, sank 12 3-pointers and led by as many as 35 points in the second half. Mick Hedgepeth scored 14 points for the Bruins and Scott Saunders added 11.

Arkansas State's 20 of 24 shooting at the free throw line couldn't overcome a 35.2% effort from the floor.

Martavius Adams led the Red Wolves (0-3) with 13 points.
