2.3 magnitude earthquake strikes in southeast MO

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KAIT) – The ground rumbled in New Madrid County on Wednesday.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), an earthquake of a 2.3 magnitude shook 10 miles north of New Madrid, MO at 6:55 p.m. The USGS also says the epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 5 miles and was located at 36.733°N and 89.504°W.
