WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) – Children at the Walnut Ridge Head Start learned an important lesson Friday morning.
The children have been collecting canned and non-perishable food for the Lawrence County Food Shelter. The food drive is a form of community service that teaches the children the importance of giving back to the community.
Community representative Redda Russell says the kids have been excited about this food drive for weeks. "I can't explain the feeling because when they come up to the truck and their faces are just glowing because they know they're helping somebody," Russell said.
This is the third year the Walnut Ridge Head Start has held this food drive.
