The Harding women's basketball team travels to Benedict in Columbia, South Carolina on Monday in a non-conference matchup at 6 p.m. The Lady Bisons head into the game with a 2-0 record.
Benedict is a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference which is one of the three conferences that make up the NCAA South Region (Gulf South Conference and Sunshine State Conference are the other two members of the region). Regional rankings help decide what teams will make the postseason.
Harding is led by junior guard Sierra Rollins who averages 12.5 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. Junior forward Cherilyn McMenamy isn't far behind her averaging 10.5 points per game.
The Lady Bisons average 26 steals per game, which leads the GSC. Senior guard Bailey St. Clair leads the GSC in steals averaging 7.00 a game. Harding also leads the GSC in scoring defense as they only allow their opponents to score 42.5 points per game.
Benedict opened the season this past Saturday night as they fell at Eckerd 56-41. Junior forward Charvez Holmes led Benedict with eight points and nine rebounds.
It will be the first time Harding and Benedict have met.
