EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) - The Mississippi County prosecutor says he will file murder charges against a man accused of beating his girlfriend.

Laura Faison, 28, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at a local hospital.

Preliminary autopsy results show Faison died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Robert "Chico" Christian stands accused of choking her in front of her three children. Christian faces first degree assault charges for beating up another man in Faison's home, Ben Durfey.

Mississippi County Prosecutor Darren Cann says he is seeking murder in the first degree and kidnapping charges against Christian.
