CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) – Thirty three-year-old Justin Hampton is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail after police say he resisted arrest.

According to Caruthersville Police, Hampton's night began when he threw his beer in his girlfriend's face at the Lady Luck Casino at approximately 12:27 Saturday morning. After taking an assault report from Hampton's girlfriend, police stopped Hampton at the intersection of 3rd and Cotton Streets less than ten minutes later.

Caruthersville Police say they tried to arrest Hampton for Driving While Intoxicated, but he allegedly resisted arrest and had to be subdued with a Taser.

Hampton was subsequently arrested for assault, DWI, resisting arrest, willfully opposing a police officer, and littering. He is being held in lieu of a $688.50 cash only bond.
